Claudette Cristalina, a self-taught Afro-Latina artist born September 29, 1990 in the
Dominican Republic and raised in the concrete jungle of NYC, is a captivating emerging
force in the world of contemporary art. Born into a legacy of creativity, she is the
daughter of the renowned artist Claudio Pacheco, fondly known as "El Quijote Caribeño"
in the Dominican Republic.
Surrounded by her father's vivid and abstract artworks from an early age, Claudette's
journey into the world of art began before she could take her first steps. As a child, she
could always be found immersed in doodles, sketches, and vibrant hues, a testament to
the profound influence of her artistic upbringing.
While the love for art was deeply ingrained in her, Claudette temporarily stepped away
from creating to explore various facets of life. However, the call of creativity proved
irresistible, and in 2017, she reignited her passion for art and embraced her natural
instinct to create - painting on a canvas for the first time.
Since then, Claudette has been on a mission to use art as a powerful platform for
activism, bringing awareness and advocating for different disparities. She is passionate
about conveying messages of kindness and championing the significance of creativity
for all. In 2017, she founded Curls on Canvas, LLC, with a vision aimed at not only
sharing her artistic prowess but also bringing the world of art to individuals of all ages,
irrespective of their financial circumstances.
Through Curls on Canvas, Claudette is resolute in her commitment to keeping the arts
alive, especially for the younger generation. Her innovative approach ensures that art
becomes an accessible and transformative experience, transcending barriers and
resonating with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Claudette’s work is a celebration of color, culture, and compassion. Her artistic journey
serves as an inspiring narrative of self-discovery, resilience, and a dedication to
spreading awareness through the universal language of art. As an artist, entrepreneur,
and advocate for creativity, Claudette continues to weave her unique tapestry, leaving an
indelible mark on the canvas of contemporary art.
In a heartfelt tribute to her father's enduring legacy, Claudette is reinventing herself as
an artist. Studio Pacheco was ignited to seamlessly blend her unique palette with her
father's artistic hues. The vast contrast between two artists sharing one brush. The
mark of the Pacheco name on the art scene will remain, ensuring its radiant legacy
persists with every stroke on canvas.
